GREEK EASTER

Service at 10:00pm for Good Friday at the Greek Orthodox Church in Episkopi, Crete

After the service, everyone follows the priest and alter boys in a walk around the village.

All during the service, kids and adults set off fire crackers all over the place, like the 4th of July here.

Easter Service at midnight on Easter Sunday, a service with more fire crackers, and fireworks. Then the traditional burning man (representation of Judas being burned at the stake - above)

The first easter feast at 2:00am!

Greeks color their eggs red, representing the blood of Christ. It is traditional to hit eggs with someone else and try not to break your egg.
